Program description of Bsc. Archaeological Tourism

The frequent changes e developments of society in the labor market, along with the globalization process, requires qualified specialists in the recognition and evaluation of archaeological, architectural and historical heritage. This program is designed to deliver students the necessary professional skills in a way that enable the realization of a tourist package on known archaeological sites and parks. The program of the Bsc.“ Archaeological Tourism” creates a variety of career opportunities in the professional and academic field. At the same time, offer employment opportunities in the private and public sectors, because this program creates complete knowledge on heritage law, heritage preservation, valorisation and promotion of archaeological sites and museum open air.

Why should you study in this program?

The aim of this program is training and educate new professionals in the field of archaeological heritage as a need, demand and consciousness of society to the importance for  archaeological potentials, as a result of the development of this sector over the last decade.

Among other things, students are provided with in-depth knowledge  and concepts to forms of qualitative exploitation on certain categories of objects and monuments of different historical periods occurring in situ or in different archeological museums across Albania. Also, the student is trained on contemporary methodologies that serve to analyze tourism as a very spatial process in the context of contemporary mobility.

Where can you get employed after graduating?

Bsc. in “Archaeological Tourism” develops a range of skills, such as practical skills, creative and interpretative, necessary in the field of archaeological tourism.  At the end of the program, the student obtain knowledgeand skills to be employed as: tour operator, individual, guides or site guides and archaeological parks, specialist in private and public institutions.
